Q: How fast/experienced do I need to be to join this club?
A: Our club welcomes members of all speeds and levels of experience!

Q: Is practice attendance mandatory?
A: Practice attendance is not mandatory, but we strongly encourage members to attend a minimum of two practices a week. The more often you come, the more often you will have other people to run with. We recognize that many Eagles balance classes with part-time jobs, internships, or other responsibilities, and we will work with your schedule!

Q: Is competition mandatory?
A: Competition is not mandatory. You can compete in as many or as few races as you want.  We typically attend four to five NIRCA meets per semester, and our members race frequently at Parkrun and other DC area road races!

Q: What are practices like?
A: Our practices vary widely, from 3-8 mile daily runs to track workouts to occasional weekend long runs. Members receive an email with our practice schedule and other updates every week, which includes specific workouts and the long run route for the week ahead. Each day will have 2-3 set routes (2-3mi, 4-5mi, 6-7mi) that we repeat throughout the semester. See the Practices page for route names, images, and descriptions.
We do not have a formal coach, but we do follow a general training plan and practices are semi-structured. If you are interested in semi-formal coaching, please email americanxctf@gmail.com.

Q: How much are dues?
A: Dues are $30/semester. This helps us pay for uniforms, equipment, transportation, and other club expenses. For NIRCA races, members pay a small registration fee, which ranges from $5-$20 dollars per meet. For outside road races, members pay their own registration.

Q: How do I register?
A: We register new and current members at the beginning of each semester. To become a member, you must register on the Club Sports website, complete a NIRCA waiver (if you wish to compete), submit insurance information and an optional physical, and pay dues. We hold several registration nights where E-Board members will help you through the process. Keep an eye on your email or Instagram for more details!
